Funeral Procession for Abraham Lincoln in Chicago, 1865 Order of Procession for Lincoln Funeral in Chicago, 1865
On May 2, Lincoln's funeral train arrived in Chicago just north of the 12th Street Station where a Gothic funeral arch had been erected. A procession of dignitaries, including Illinois Senator Lyman Trumbull and black abolitionist John Jones, accompanied the horse-drawn hearse as it made its way to the Chicago Court House.

The next day, at least 125,000 people paid their last respects to the President as he lay-in-state until 8pm.
