Lincoln's funeral train enetering Chicago, May 2, 1865
     

A special funeral train carried the body of Abraham Lincoln from Washington, D.C., to Springfield, Illinois. Along the way, it made several stops, including Philadelphia, New York and Chicago, where it entered the city on the tracks of the Illinois Central Railroad.
