Annotation: George M. Pullmam developed the railroad passenger sleeping car business and surpassed competition by turning it into a main industrial enterprise. The sleeping cars were designed with a high standard of comfort at an extra charge. The Pullman sleeping cars were leased to the railroads and provided passengers with porters, conductors, dining staff, and food and linens.
