Anna
Anna,
of Polish parentage, is only seventeen, and has had to leave
school. She says, "I wanted to be a nurse, but I had to
give up high school and help support the family because my Dad
was out of work so long. I could get work and my father couldn't.
I would like to work in a hospital, and I did apply at one or
two, but couldn't get on." Anna managed to get a job breaking
eggs for forty hours a week at $11.50.
