Annotation: Complete Title: A soldier boy of the 71st Regiment Infantry, New York National Guard, saying good bye to his sweetheart as his regiment leaves for Camp Wadsworth, Spartanburg, South Carolina. This image shows a young soldier saying goodbye to his girlfriend as he prepares to depart to fight in World War I. As with any war a soldier will have to depart from a loved one and say their goodbyes. And as in any circumstances, not only with war, goodbyes don’t come easy.
