Annotation: This print prompting Americans to buy war bonds shows one banner that reads: ‘Pershing’s Vets’ and another that says: ‘Blue Devils.’ General Joseph Pershing was one of America’s most famous Army officers who served as the main commander in Europe during World War I. The Blue Devils refer to the 88th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Both groups of soldiers are cheering from inside the torch of The Statue of Liberty.
