I
accepted my responsibility to help support my family even though
this meant I wouldn't go to high school. I wanted to go to school,
but I knew this was not possible. I was willing to help my mother
because I had a sense of togetherness. I felt as if the younger
children were mine as well as my mother's. My whole salary went
to the family. If there wasn't enough, I did without.
